8/19/26 Jeremiah’s pronouncements of national demolition and John’s restoration narrative establish opposing movements—one describing comprehensive destruction, the other accomplishing redemptive renewal through personal commission. Psalm 105 anchors both within God’s covenantal faithfulness, revealing how judgment and restoration flow from the same divine purpose. Jeremiah announces that what God has built He is about to demolish, and what He has planted He is about to uproot—the whole land ( Jer 45–47 ). Yet within this catastrophe, Baruch is instructed to stop seeking great things for himself, for though disaster comes upon every living creature, God will grant him his life like spoils of war wherever he goes ( Jer 45–47 ).
